Core Google Apps to have installed:

Slides/Docs/Sheets are all "lite" versions of the web versions but allow you to edit, share, and view.

Gmail- Use to check and manage school email. Always use your lgsstudent account for school-related activities and messaging.

Google Keep- Helpful workflow tool for to-do lists, quick notes, researching, etc. Google Keep integrates with the web versions of Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

Meet-While your computer is ideal for Google Meets, in a pinch you can also access via your phone.

Chrome- Google Web Browser. Logging in with your student account will allow you to access bookmarks and maintain settings across devices.

Drive- The most important Google App. Use this to upload images or scans from your phone to your Google Drive. From here you can easily submit files to Canvas.

Google Calendar- Use these instructions to import your Canvas Calendar into your Google Calendar and then you can access all your class calendars on your Google Calendar

Other Apps to install

Canvas Student App: While this app can be helpful in a pinch, we STRONGLY recommend you access Canvas via the web browser.

FOR SCANNING DOCUMENTS TO PDF and uploading to Canvas, you need:

Notes App: On iOS devices, this is natively installed. Pressing and holding the app will bring up the options below. Choose the "scan document" option to take a high-quality pdf that you can then share easily.

Scanning PDFs can also be done via Google Drive in Android and the Files iOS app.

Flipgrid: Your teacher might assign assignments using FlipGrid. Flipgrid can be accessed via the web-browser or the app.

Kahoot: Your teacher might use Kahoot for an informal check for understanding. Kahoot can be accessed via the web-browser or the app.

Zoom: While your computer is ideal for Zoom meetings, in a pinch you can also access via your phone.

Wakelet: Wakelet is a curation tool that can be useful for bookmarking and sharing resources such as video, webpages, Google Docs. Helpful for collecting resources for research papers or projects or even use as a portfolio of work.
